I heard that on the radio this morning and thought the same thing!! Ugh!! I know investing is a long-term thing, but I'm about ready to start digging a large hole in the backyard to bury all our $$ in..lmao

I agree with the can in the mattress! Now I wish I did that with my kids college funds! Those funds have much less in them now. Should have used the envelope system for those too!

Try being on a fixed income and watch your savings go down!  Talk about scary.  My home business is the only way we have of recouping any losses, because no one out there will hire us at our age.  Trust me, I have tried!

this whole thing is so scary to me. I am just not sure how much it is going to affect us small town people. I bank at a tiny local bank. They have claimed they are safe. I just hope so. Things are tight as it is. With all my medical bills it's just insane. =/
