Hi - I popped over and left a comment. I liked your writing style, quirky and quick.
When it comes to commenting, google reader and the new google follow feature has cut my comments way down to a fraction of what they were because people are more apt to read and move along to the next blog.
It can take a long time to get into someone's daily reading rotation. One way to increase comments is to branch out.
Find a blogger that you like and then read your way through their blogroll. When you find a blog you like, simply state: I came to your blog via xxxx! I enjoyed your post because it reminded me of xxx! or this post really hit home for me because xxx!
Those are two things that I am always curious when a new reader discovers my place. Another important thing is that you use your blogging "voice" when you leave comments. A comment left for someone can also be a calling card for you.
If you have a number of readers, I wouldn't feel defeated by saying that they can't be bothered, some people are very very shy about leaving comments. They are afraid they will sound goofy.
Try ending your posts with a question, such as: Anyone else have robot children? When was the last time you passed out in your Elmo chair?
As always, my dear newbie ... these are just my humble opinions. Take them or leave them but at least they are free
