New Comment Group?

Have any of you been to Stirrup Queens? Have you seen her International Comment Leaving Week? It is a great concept and I participate in it every month. I am interested in starting my own comment group. I am just trying to gauge interest at this point.

I visited and left you a comment too!  I love the idea of a comment group.  I don't know if it's just because people are busy with the holidays or what- but my comments have dropped off recently.

My commnets fluctuate. A lot. I have posts that I think are really good and I'll get like 10 comments. I can see by my stats how many people are visiting. I even use Google analytics, so I pretty much know who is reading what. So, if 150 people read a post, why are only 15 commenting? LOL

I just need to get a little graphic made and get something going. Meanwhile, feel free to comment away! I always return the favor.

I am thinking of doing it in a smilar style to Stirrup Queens. She has people who want to be added leave their name and blog link in the comments section. Then I will add them to the list. The list would then be published as an individual post every week or month or whatever. People would visit sites on the list, comment, let them know how they got there, and the people in turn comment back. Not sure if I should do it monthly like they do or what? Also trying to think of a name for it and design a button for participants to put it on their blogs!

Statistically, if you have 150 people reading and 15 people leave comments you are right in the ballpark.  That is ten percent and that is typically the average.  I'll be honest, as much as I love the comments I love it even more to see that people are reading me.  If you've got 150 page hits in a day and they are for more than what, zero seconds?  Good for you .... your voice is being heard even if people aren't talking back. 

How many times have you heard, read, etc. the following:  I wanted to say something but I wanted to find better words, or someone took what I was going to say, or I am too shy to leave comments. 

I love comments but I love knowing that I am being read even more.  So many people are reading via "readers" these days that 150 page hits means that is 150 people that you know about are reading you.
