lol... stumbling idiot. Tongue

That'd be good, Linda.

I think it might also be a good idea for us to include a link to our best post (or two) here, if you want to.
Try to choose one that got the best / most responses.

I've found from my intensive (!) research that stumbleupon traffic seems to be "low quality". People bounce in and out of your site very quickly.
So we need to choose something that will grab people immediately.

Personally, I tend to give the thumbs up to things that are funny or very clever when I'm stumbling.

For instance, I'd want to highlight "A quick lesson in fursing" ~ http://kidzarama.com/parenting/a-quick-lesson-in-fursing/

1. Because it's had a lot of response and a couple of people have actually linked back to it.

2. I think it fits into the funny & clever part.
I tell my writing every night; "Don't worry baby, your mama loves you..."

3. I think it'd be really cool to become known as that fursing woman. Cheesy

What do you think of the idea?

That is a very good idea!  I've gotten the most response from two of my posts so I will list them here...

We got stumbled by a few people at one point, and all of a sudden Stumble sent us over 100 people in one day.  None of them stuck around, so it was all worthless traffic to us.  And the next day it was all over.  But who knows, over time it may be a useful thing.  You can't judge from one day's experience.  I'll be happy to help out fellow mommies.  I've stumbled you, Jane and I'll be happy to stumble anyone else with good content.  k.rodriguez - your site is not on stumble yet?  It asked me to review it.

Hi, MommyAnna, really enjoyed your techno-post (Gadget-loving Mommies, unite!), and with a view to your comments on the quality of your stumbleupon visitors, I've reddited it instead. Hope you get some 'return traffic' from this lot (if they materialise).

Swing by sometime; even if it's to offer some trenchant criticism, we'll take anything!

I have to agree with you regarding the quality of stumbleupon traffic.
Since cloudsters stumbled my post on fursing, my traffic went from an average of about 100 per day to over 400 each day for the last two days.  With all of that traffic, I've seen about 3 comments from new visitors.

In the past few days I've also had a couple of posts in blog carnivals and had more new commenters from those visitors.

It's hard to see the value of stumble when it seems that most people use it only to 'be seen' to be using it. ~I read somewhere that the more you use it yourself, the more your own site is seen by others.

Anyway, I have had one interesting benefit:
The project wonderful ad space that I have on my blog has gone from earning 30c to 50c a day this week, although that may be a coincidence and it's really just my warm and loving personality that's the real cause. Wink

At least I'm not in a position to get smacked by my hosting company for extra bandwidth usage.
That would be a *real* bummer.

Hi Cloudsters, thank you for the compliments  and the reddit on my gadget post!  Cheesy  I went to look at my traffic, and there were 15 views from reddit.   I'm happy with any traffic really, because we're a new blog and haven't had much exposure.   I like your blog - your writing is really good and I have a 6 month old so we're going through a lot of the same things.   I tried to stumble it but it hasn't been added to stumble yet, and I don't like to do the initial review of a site so I don't mis-tag or mis-categorize it.   Let me know after you've stumbled it yourself, so I can too.  Smiley

Hi MommyAnna, glad to see that you got some visitors: Hope it'll be 'quality traffic'.

If you look beneath my posts, you'll see that there are links for Stumbling, Digging etc (it's text, rather than a logo).

Or you might click the Bookmark button, which also gives Stumble, etc options.

Cheers much!

Hi, sorry, MommyAnna, misread your post the first time round. Must be the... erm... pollution. Erm, my son distracted me. Oh, I'll fess up, didn't read carefully enough. Anyway, see you've already gone ahead and Stumbled. Sorry 'bout that, will let you know how things go.

By the way, Jane: You pulled in 400 in a day? Has to be your absolutely magnetic personality.

I was amazed too, cloudsters!
There were a couple of days of 400+ traffic, then it gradually dropped back down to a bit higher than before.

Interesting experience. Wink
