As much as I don't like the heat that goes with summer, I dislike paying the heating bills in the winter!
We are having our first fire in the fire place tonight and it feels fabulous. I am home alone during the day and I keep the house at 60 degrees without the fireplace going. I use a small heater in my home office underneath my desk. It keeps my feet and my hands warm.
I usually have a fire in the fireplace from the time the kids get home from school until bedtime because the "blower thingies" by the fan keep the first floor warm (68 living room and about 65 degrees on the rest of the first floor.
At night I've got the temperature set at 60 degrees and the kids have small safe heaters in their rooms that are set at sixty four degrees.
Does anyone else have problems paying for something you can't see (like heat!) ?
What are you doing to stay warm and save money?
