Just curious -- my kids are under 10, and they go to bed around 8:30 or so during the week and before 9:30 or 10 on the weekends.

we try to get our almost 9 yr old daughter in bed about 8:30 - 9:00 during the week

our 16 yr old... he has so much homework and is involved in so many things that he doesn't typically get to bed till 11:30 or midnight..sometimes even 1:00 am and then has to be up at 6:20 am

I have an almost 3 year old and a 7 month old.  The youngest goes to sleep on her own around 7:30PM and the oldest we try to have in bed around 8PM, but usually it is more like 9PM.  This is every night.

Oh gosh if you have a 7 month old that goes to bed without having to be rocked, etc etc you have done a great job!  I loved rocking my youngest but there were some nights I just KNEW that child was playing me when he'd yell in his 10 month old voice -- "BOCK ONE MINUTE MAMA?!?!  BOCK ONE MINUTE?"  which meant come back in here and rock some more!  LOL

Those were some trying times since I have my kids 13 months apart and the older one was very needy too...but at this point they are some of the most precious memories I have.  I can close my eyes and be back to that tiny little bedroom with that rocking chair which also rocked my dad and his mom before him....and it makes me smile every time.   Kiss

I love to have my kids in bed early, I need time to wind down in the evening without them "needing" me. I have a seven and nine year old that go to bed at 7:00 p.m. sharp and a fifteen year old that goes to bed at 8:30 p.m.

Keep in mind, it isn't just the bedtime that is an issue. You've also got the number of hours they sleep which is more accurate. Tired kids and naughty kids in my opinion. My fifteen year old needs to get up at 5:30 on school mornings. She knows she needs a lot of sleep. She always has and always will.

My two youngest kids need to be on the school bus at 7:00 a.m., they need a lot of sleep. We adjust the bedtimes very little on weekends because the kids are "programmed" to get up early, weekend or not. The youngest are only up until 8:00 p.m. and the fifteen year old is only up until 10:00 p.m.

I don't waiver, the rules are firm and fair.

How do ya'll negotiate bedtimes with all the extra-curricular activities?  And how does your 15 year old get her homework done before then?

Tomorrow night my DD has a double-header softball game -- it won't even end until 8:15!!  That's a really late night for us but thank goodness this is the last week of school for us and they aren't doing anything important.
