They are also doing a major audit right now of the blogs they already have and are getting rid of a lot of blogs that are not meeting their quality standards.  They say they are getting rid of about 75% of the blogs they already have.  So, if you submit your blog now for approval it may take a while to get approved because they are so busy with the audit.
