Hi everyone,
It has been incredibly hot here in Southern California.  This past week was a scorcher and I was outside and the heat just drains you.  It is starting to cool off but WOW!.  I had a friend in Palm Desert and it was a 113 degrees.  oh well just wanted to share.

Tracey,

I'm in Santa Barbara. We had a few miserable days. Yesterday was very livable. This morning it's a bit cool.

Hi Audrey,
It is getting better.  I live near Marina Del Rey and the ocean breeze is great.  I love Santa Barbara and will probably take my daughter on a train ride up there and spend the day in the fall.  Take care.

It's finally "cooled down" in my area of CA! Yea! I don't live in the desert and it was 110 last Saturday... I was out weeding in the garden not realizing how high the temp was (insert wilted smiley here)

Dominique,

Where you at?

Tracey, if you take the train up here, how do you get around? Or do you get off in downtown, walk and then come back to the train station?

It's not even that hot in colorado here. 90 something today - and I still stay inside in the AC. Hope it cools down for you all in CA!

Hey Audrey,
We get off in downtown and walk around.  We did it before two years ago and it was fun.

Tracey,

Ok...so you can get off there, spend the day, eat dinner and head home all without ever needing a car. I think you can do that in San Diego too if I'm not mistaken.

You're right, the San Diego station takes you into downtown near the Gaslamp District. But, it's kind of spread out from there. Balboa Park, the Zoo and Sea World are probably manageable by taxi though. It's been awhile since I worked downtown there, but they cater to the tourists. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a shuttle service.

Tracey, I used to work on Santa Monica Blvd. I think that's a hop-skip-jump away Smiley

Hi Danielle,
I'm in Denver - and it's still hot. No humidity though which makes a huge difference!
Still have the ac on high!
I'm sweating like a little  piggy!

Well I would like to say that we can compete with the over 100 degrees numbers here in northern Florida but it only got up into the low 90's today.  However, I will say this add the humidity factor into that and it probably feels pretty close!  The worst part is that we just came back from vacation in the Smokey Mountains where one night it got down into the upper 50's!  AARRGH!  Boy was it hard to come home!
